$750,000 price tag for a Boston … parking spot MABA MassachusettsRealEstate FirstTimeHomeBuyers MaBuyerAgent

A single Boston parking spot just hit the market for a hefty seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Located in the Brimmer Street Garage in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood, the coveted spot offers proximity to Beacon Street and the Massachusetts State House in an area with limited parking. Many of Beacon Hill’s homes, built in the eighteenth and nineteenth century, weren’t designed with cars in mind.  “In Boston, parking spaces, particularly garage spaces, are scarce, especially in older neighborhoods like Beacon Hill,” says Brimmer Street Garage management.

“Streets are tight and automobiles were not yet invented when the neighborhood was being established.” Cabot and Company’s Rene Rodriguez oversees the spot’s listing. “Having this parking spot is very valuable,” Rodriguez shared with the Boston Herald. “There really aren’t other options for people on Beacon Hill who are spending millions on homes with no parking.”  The pricey spot resides inside a parking garage at 70 Brimmer St. In 1979, when the parking garage was converted, in part, to condominiums, the spot became deeded property.

The selling process for the spot works like any other real estate transaction. When it was first deeded, the spot sold for just seven thousand five hundred dollars. The new listing marks a ten thousand percent price increase. The spot also offers more than just desirable location. Brimmer Garage will provide valet and concierge services, including refueling and car washing, upon agreement with a buyer. Rodriguez reported that he received at least one offer for the spot after one week on the market.
