 Zillow has released its list of the hottest real estate markets predicted in 2025 and Boston has made the rankings. Zillow analyzed predicted home-value growth, current housing market trends and anticipated shifts in the labor market, home construction and homeowner household numbers to develop the list.

 This year, Zillow is forecasting slow and steady home value and sales growth, but noted that affordability issues and the unpredictability of mortgage rates will be a familiar factor in the year ahead. The company also noted that there should be a recovery in inventory, which has been a challenge since the pandemic.

 Boston ranked sixteenth on the list, rising ten spots from 2024. Home values in Beantown are expected to grow two point one percent this year, according to the report. Buffalo, New York, was named the hottest market for 2025, followed by Indianapplis and Providence, Rhode Island. Hartford, Connecticut and Philadelpihia rounded out the top five.
