Two new development projects in Roslindale and West Roxbury will bring more than 40 new homeownership opportunities to area residents. Together they will create 45 residential units, including seven designated as income-restricted. Boston’s Planning Department approved the projects at its August meeting. 55-57 Belgrade Ave., Roslindale The project at 55-57 Belgrade Ave. in Roslindale includes building 15 new two-bedroom homes, two of which will be income-restricted.
The transit-oriented development is close to the Roslindale Village Commuter Rail Station, as well as three MBTA bus routes along Belgrade Avenue. Onsite bike parking will also be available, and the project will contribute $4,125 to the Boston Transportation Department’s bikeshare program. The West Roxbury project, located at 231-245 Grove St., will include 30 new homes. Five will be income-restricted.

It will also include ground-floor retail space, along with 46 bicycle parking spaces on the ground floor. The transit-oriented development is close to multiple MBTA bus routes and the West Roxbury Commuter Rail Station. The project will also contribute several area improvements, including sidewalk and streetscape revamps along Grove and Washington streets and the planting of four street trees. Additionally, the project will contribute $10,521.80 to the Boston Transportation Department for the city’s bikeshare system.
