A small Massachusetts town has been named the most expensive town to live in in the U.S. Lending Tree’s “As Pricey as a Big City: Home Values in America’s Most Expensive Towns” list used U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey data to find fifty communities with populations of ten thousand to fifty thousand with the highest median home values.

Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts, topped the list, being home to the most expensive real estate in the country. The town, located on Martha’s Vineyard with a population of twenty thousand two hundred ans twenty seven, has a median home value of $857,600, putting it in the same ballpark as the median value in San Francisco, which is $933,300, according to the report.

Relative to income, Vineyard Haven home values are eight point fifty seven seven times higher than the median area household incomes, suggesting full-time residents may have to stretch to purchase a home here. Jackson, Wyoming, and Breckenridge, Colorado, followed in second and third place with median home values of $670,100 and $641,900, respectively. Steamboat Springs, Colorado, was fourth on the list with median home value of $570,600 and Hailey, Idaho, rounded out the top five at $491.700.
