Two new development projects in Mattapan and Mission Hill will bring more than one hundred and twenty homeownership units to the area. The Boston Planning & Development Agency approved the projects at 156 Wellington Hill St. in Mattapan and 1558 Tremont St. in Mission Hill. The Mattapan project will convert an existing building into a new four- to five-story building with twenty seven condominiums as well as more than one thousand square feet of retail space. Four of the units will be income-restricted. Developed in line with the city’s PLAN: Mattapan XX, the project will allow residents opportunities to create generational wealth through homeowners, according to the BPDA. 156 Wellington Hill St., Mattapan. The project will also bring area improvements, including improving the intersection of Greendale Road and Wellington Hill Street by expanding sidewalk space and creating shorter, more visible pedestrian crossings, as well as planting at least five new street trees. The expanded sidewalk space will create a plaza-like area in front of the retail area of the building. Project developers will also contribute $7,859 toward the city’s bikeshare program. In Mission Hill, the project at 1558 Tremont St. is also a conversion, taking a three-story building and converting it into a six-story, multi-use building with ninety five apartments and more than three thousand square feet of first-floor retail space.

The units will include fifty nine studios, twenty two one-bedroom apartments and forteen two-bedroom apartments, sixteen of which will be income-restricted. 1558 Tremont St., Mission Hill.
