 Massachusetts has been named one of the top ten safest states in the U.S., according to WalletHub’s 2022’s Safest States in America list.WalletHub compared all 50 states across five metrics covering key safety indicators, including personal and residential safety, financial safety, road safety, workplace safety and emergency preparedness. States were also compared across fifty three key safety indicators.

 The Bay State ranked number six on the list overall. It also ranked number one for road safety, fifth for financial safety, seventh for personal and residential safety, eleventh for emergency preparedness and forty second for workplace safety. Massachusetts’ number one road safety ranking indicated the state had the fewest fatalities per one hundred million vehicle miles of travel, according to the report. Massachusetts was also found to have the lowest unemployment rate and had the third-highest percentage of adults in the country with rainy day funds.
