Massachusetts areas make best beach towns on the East Coast list MABA MassachusettsRealEstate FirstTimeHomeBuyers MaBuyerAgent

Three Bay State areas have been named to Condé Nast’s list of fourteen Best Beach Towns on the East Coast, and it comes as no surprise. Condé Nast Traveler explored the fourteen states along the coast of the Atlantic Seaboard, most of which are big vacation destinations. With one thousand five hundred and nineteen miles of shoreline, you’d expect to find Bay State communities on the list. Rockport, Oak Bluffs and the entire Cape Cod were included on this year’s list.

Located on the North Shore at the tip of Cape Ann, the seaside community of Rockport is a favorite travel destination. Just forty miles north of Boston, the community features Halibut Point State Park, rocky beaches, seaside parks and, in true New England fashion, a wealth of history.

Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard also made the list. From the ferries bringing in visitors daily to the famed right-out-of-a-storybook gingerbread houses, Oak Bluffs has always been a huge vacation destination locally and beyond. The community is also rich in history and home to the annual African-American Film Festival.

Finally, the third Bay State area to make the list wasn’t a town at all. It’s Cape Cod. Extending sixty five miles into the Atlantic, Cape Cod has more than four hundred miles of shoreline. It boasts picturesque beaches, the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard and lots of history.
